1. Be respectful, we want to convince the decision makers that approval is a bad idea. We need them to hear that we are reasonable people and we need them on our side. 
2. Be concise. Each speaker gets 2 minutes. It’s a good idea to have your comments written in advance. Be prepared for what you’ll say if they shorten the time to one minute. What is the main point you want to convey? 
3. Details matter. Use facts to make your point. (Example: “it’s a bad project and I don’t like it.” isn’t a good comment. “This project is within 500 ft of my home (assessors parcel # or address) and I want the CEC to analyze the offsite impacts of a worse-case senario of a thermal runaway fire at the Corby Facility,” is a much better comment.)

 Emphasize our main points:

A. WRONG LOCATION- Too close to homes, sensitive agricultural areas, a major highway and a level II trauma hospital. This poses public safety and contamination risks, which could cause evacuations, shelter in place orders and a potential highway closure.

B. REMOVES AGRICULTURAL LAND - The proposed site is on 40 acres that includes, prime farmland, land of statewide importance and unique farmland, that would be removed out of production for 30 years. The project also poses potential contamination risks of nearby farms, irrigation canals and groundwater if a fire occurs.  

C. DOESN'T FOLLOW LOCAL ORDINANCE OR ZONING- Solano County has banned these facilities on agricultural land, and only permits battery storage in more appropriate industrial zones. Corby wants to bypass our county's rules and put our community in danger simply to be closer to the PG&E substation.  It's all about profits not what is best for our community.
