Vacaville City Council will be voting on a moratorium May 14th at 6pm at City Hall. We need them to vote YES! The moratorium will halt all applications from private developers temporarily and hopefully give the City a chance to address the issue of where these can be safely located.
We really NEED the public to show up for this one! The fate of our City is at stake. Please attend the meeting: Tuesday, May 14th at 6pm. Vacaville City Hall 650 Merchant St. Vacaville, CA 95688 Please take two minutes and mark your calendar.

We are starting an email campaign starting today and we need your help!
Please send an email to the city manager using the template below and copy the city council using the emails provided. We want to send a clear message to end this negotiating agreement. 1) Copy and paste the city manager's email into the "TO" box: [email protected] 2)Copy and paste the city council's email into the "CC" box: [email protected],[email protected],[email protected],[email protected],[email protected],[email protected],[email protected] 3) Copy and paste this message into the body of the email, don't forget to sign your name: City Manager Aaron Busch, I’m writing to urge you to deny any extensions for the ENRA between the City of Vacaville and Menard Energy LLC that is set to expire January 10, 2024. Additionally do not sell 7050 Leisure Town Rd, to Menard Energy, LLC. It’s clear Menard Energy isn’t the right fit for Vacaville. There are numerous safety and environmental concerns with the location and the battery type proposed in their project. Additionally, Menard Energy LLC has no experience building a battery energy storage system in the United States. The Vacaville community is largely opposed to this project as shown by petition signatures and the overwhelming turnout at the community meeting on September 7th, 2023. We need to ensure the safety of our firefighters and police officers along with the citizens of Vacaville. Please listen to the citizens of Vacaville and give no extensions to the ENRA. Letting the negotiating agreement expire on January 10, 2024 will allow the City to look at better alternatives for the property at 7050 Leisure Town Rd. Concerned resident, <YOUR NAME> There is now a page dedicated to this project on the City website. Still no meeting date yet. www.cityofvacaville.gov/batterystorage
You can track its progress through permitting. At the 7/25/2023 Vacaville City Council Meeting, the City Manager stated there will be a community meeting with Menard Energy possibly Mid-September. We will update on the website with more information as we receive it.
Looking closer at the City documents. Still doesn’t state the Megawatts of the project. However I’m sure they have an idea or a range of MW but just don’t want to tell us. If you look at the latest drawing it states it would be 2 stories high and almost a million square feet of batteries!
