Vaca Dixon Power Center Project |
The Vaca Dixon Power Center Project proposes development of a 157-megawatt battery energy storage facility on approximately 10 acres in Vacaville, California. The project would install two large battery systems along with supporting electrical infrastructure, fencing, lighting, and grid interconnection equipment, expanding the industrial footprint in the area.
Although positioned as a way to improve grid stability and store renewable energy, the facility would bring concentrated high-capacity battery equipment near existing development and infrastructure. Concerns often associated with similar projects include fire safety risks, long-term maintenance impacts, visual changes to the landscape, and cumulative industrialization of surrounding land. |
